Dahi Machha Recipe।। Curd with Fish


 Ingredients 

Rohu or Catla Fish – 500 grams (cut and cleaned)

Curd (Dahi) – 1 cup (well beaten)

Mustard Oil – 4 to 5 tblspoon

Turmeric Powder – ½ teaspoon

(For marination) + ½ teaspoon (for gravy)

Mustard Seed -1 tblspoon 

Cumin Seeds (Jeera) – 1 Tablespoon

Gram flour -1 tblspoon 

 Dry Red Chilli -3 nos 

Salt – to taste

Process To Cook 

First Clean the Fish pieces.

Marinate with salt and turmeric Powder.

Keep in rest for 15 minutes 

Heat a Pan 🥘 

Add Mustard Oil to fry fish pieces 

Let Heat mustard oil till smoky

Add marinated fish pieces 

Shallow fry the fish pieces

Transfer fish to a plate 

In the same oil, add some whole garam Masala 

Panchphoran, curry leaves, green Chilli (slitted).

Saute for some seconds 

Add chopped Onion ( 1 medium size)

Fry until golden brown 

Let's prepare the Masala 

Add Mustard 

Cumin seeds 

Dry Red chilli 

Garlic 

Add little water and make a smooth Paste 

Now our masala paste is ready 

Curd mix

In bowl 

Add 1 cup of fresh curd 

Add mustard masala -2 Spoons

Gram flour -1 Tablespoon 

Salt(as per your taste)

Turmeric Powder 

Mix all

Now onion fried properly 

Reduce the gas flame and add curd mixture 

Stir continuously to avoid curdling.

Add water as per your gravy requirement 

Gravy started boiling at this time 

Add fried fish pieces in the gravy 

I am add 1 tspoon of sugar to adjust the taste(optional)

Cover the lid and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes on low medium flame 

The fish will absorb the flavors of the curd and spices.

Switched off the flame 

Transfer to a serving Bowl 

Garnish with 1 spoon Raw mustard oil.

Let's serve hot with rice.
